“I’ve got a soft spot for first responders, since they’ve been a part of my life,” said Travolta, 61, quietly during a question-and-answer session following the screening. “I’m hoping this movie has an impact. I compare it to Ladder 49, only this time it’s about linemen, the guys who risk their lives to get the power back.”
Life on the Line premiered in California recently!
Featuring the hardships and sacrifices linemen make for everyone everyday, the movie shows the world – in yet another cool movie about linemen – how criticical these guys are to our world.
Life on the Line was the brainchild of Chad Dubea, a former lineman. He started the Fallen Linemen Organization to support the families of linemen who have died bringing power back to the city. After approaching the now-producer Marvin Peart with the idea, he proved himself a valuable member of the movie-making team.
“…we did have some disagreements along the way. I think he wanted just two hours of guys climbing (utility) poles, and I said, ‘Hey, it’s Hollywood — we’re going to need a bit more than that.”
Set in Texas, the movie brings one giant storm that threatens to blow the whole of Texas power off the map. This is definitely a movie that needs to be watched to understand what champions linemen really are.
